Process

My passions were  objective was to create a personal documentary interview styled project in which I discuss having multiple passions in a world where where it feels like I only have to stick to one. I have always loved the arts whether it was drawing, painting, singing or dancing. They have always been different parts of me that I have expressed.

Animatic

I knew that I wanted to have portions of film making, specifically documentary/interview style and I wanted to tell a story of my experiences as if I was answering questions about my college life and I wanted to also narrate and display that story through animation. So as we watch we cut back and forth from seeing the speaker, to seeing parts of my story.

First Pass

My first step to compiling this project together was the filming of the interview portions and recording my own footage to then rotoscope (draw over).

For this pass I incorporated some of my previous art projects in efforts to display the visually artist side of my passion. I also continued to rotoscope parts of my dancing animations.

Third Pass

For this pass it was suggested that I give more individual movement to the logo overall instead of

one simultaneous movement like the previous iteration of the animation.

Logo Design

It took me until the final week of production to come up with a title for this  project. I did not try to force a name, I wanted to see what the project would come out to be so that the name could find itself so for a while the name of the project itself was titled " Title" and "Working" which was short for "Working Title."

I thought to myself  "Hmm this project is supposed to be about expressing that there is more to me than what people see. I am more than just a 2D artist" This project is supposed to be about me being authentically myself. I eventually came up with the name " Authenticity (Authentically Me) which simplified to just be "Authentically Me".

To even up the ratio between real life footage and animation I decided that going with a more illustrative Logo would fit better than that of using strictly realistic imagery.
